How to register a death with Vodafone

What to do when someone dies

How to inform Vodafone of a bereavement

Vodafone has made it as easy as possible to let them know about a bereavement. There are options available to submit the details via their online form or you can contact them by telephone, but the digital service is usually the quickest way.

Visit the website address: https://www.vodafone.co.uk/vodafone-uk/bereavement/form/ and complete the questionnaire to report the bereavement

This online form will let you choose from the following options when informing Vodafone about the death:

  • Close the account
  • Transfer the account to someone else
  • Move the account to Pay as you go
  • Move the account to another network

Call for free on 0808 005 7450 (lines are open Monday to Saturday from 8am until 8pm).

What documentation will you need to provide to NatWest to register the death?

To let Vodafone know about the death you will need to provide the below information:

  • Type of account they had - mobile, broadband or both
  • Your name and contact details - they may also ask for your proof of ID and address
  • Details of the deceased customer such as date of birth, name, address, account number and phone number
  • Death certificate details

What happens next?

Once you've submitted the online form or informed Vodafone over the phone, they will email you within 10 days to confirm that they've made the changes in line with your request.
